Location: Providence Bay, Manitoulin Island, Ontario

At around 9 p.m., while camping at Providence Bay, a family of four saw an unusual object in the sky. The family dog was the first to "sense" something strange. They described it as a single white light which travalled straight across the horizon, from east to west. It then flared up twice and disappeared. There was no sound.

A couple camping out at their camp on Manitoulin Island couldn't sleep because of the heat so they decided to lay down on the deck of their boat. As they watched the sky, they spotted a silver object as it came in from the west, stopped and reversed direction without turning around. The time was between 4 and 5 a.m.

SAUCERS ACTIVE AGAIN IN NORTHERN ONTARIO

During the early morning hours of Thursday, April 3, 1997, an Anishinabe man living at the Wikwemikong Indian Reserve on Manitoulin Island, located in Lake Huron's Georgian Bay, spotted a UFO.

The eyewitness "happened to look out of his living room window and noticed a yellow, saucer- shaped object a few degrees above the horizon. In the foreground stood a street light. The time was approximately 4 a.m., and the sky was overcast. He estimated the object to be about half a cigarette held at arm's length. He also said at one point, the light blinked out for half a second or so, then reappeared. Soon after, the object disappeared from view."

The man "told his girlfriend about the sighting the next day. She said it must have been the northern lights (Aurora borealis--J.T.) He responded by saying that the UFO was in the southern part of the sky (over Lake Huron) and the northern lights usually occur in the northern sky."

TWO HOVERING UFOs CAUGHT ON VIDEOTAPE IN CANADA

On Monday, January 1, 2000, "sometime between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.," Nathan Wright and a few companions were outdoors on Manitoulin Island, a large island in northern Lake Huron, just south of Canada's Ontario province.

Suddenly, Nathan spotted two curious lights in the southwestern sky. "There were two lights and they hovered over the southwestern part of the island," he reported, "One light had a double tail and a very bright center. Yellowish, I would say. We were looking toward the southwest part of the island. I distinctly saw two objects-- one looked like a comet--but they did not move."
Nathan immediately grabbed a videocamera and began shooting. "I also caught them on videotape for about 30 to 60 seconds. They were bright yellowish and there was no sound."

CANADA UFO VIDEO TAPED OVER (US BORDER)

MANITOULIN ISLAND -- On January 1, 2001, around 5:00 PM my girlfriend's father and I saw two UFO's over the island. They appeared to be bright yellowish lights and they didn't move. Each had its own shape. One was circular and the other was shaped like a comet with two tails and a round head. The sky was clear and the sun was setting. They looked like they were on the edge of earth's atmosphere. I video taped about 45 seconds. My friend and I kept an eye on the UFO's as we traveled west on the island. And as we dipped into the valleys we lost sight of them. We watched them for five more minutes before we lost track of them. They appeared to change into a circle as we traveled west. I have them on 8 MM video. I asked a local store owner about UFO's there and he said, "He sees them all the time." Thanks to Nathan Wright nwright1@uswest.net and Michel M. Deschamps ufoman@ican.net

Subject: Similar Physical Landing Traces
To: sdi@virtuallystrange.net
From: "ufoman@ican.net" <ufoman@ican.net>

Dear Errol and Listeners,

In June 1991, I investigated a physical trace case near Spring Bay, Manitoulin Island which was discovered in mid-September 1990. Two doughnut-shaped "indentations" or areas where the gravel was blown away, each measuring 9 feet across, side by side (about 16 feet from center to center)... on a bed of limestone covered by a 3/4 inch layer of gravel.

Well, in the November issue of the UFO
Newsclipping Service I received a few
days ago, there is a photo of a similar
'circle'... complete with gravel mound in
the middle... discovered in Denver, North
Carolina, on August 29th.

The only diferences are that it measured
8 feet in diameter and was made on dirt,
not on a rocky surface.

I showed the photos to a few people at
work and one guy was impressed at the
similarity of the traces.

Would be an interesting topic of
discussion.

Cordially,
Michel

Manitoulin Island  ON  July 2006    12:20am approx.

It was this past summer up on Manitoulin Island in a tiny place called Meldrum Bay.  My cousin (15 years old) and I (16 years old) had just left my friend's house at around 12:20 a.m. ish and were walking back to my grandparents.  The road that we were taking has no street lights and passes right beside the lake (in fact there is only one single street light in the whole town so it was very dark and the sky was perfectly clear, you could see every star) so anyways we were really close to the waters edge when I saw something out of the corner of my eye so I turned to look and directly across the bay right above the tree line there was this extremely bright white light which was bigger than any object in the sky and brighter and it was just hovering (making no sound whatsoever, you could have heard a pin drop) then it started to move to the right and thats when I noticed that it was casting a beam of light across the entire bay..but the thing about the light was that it was of equal width (no more than 15-20cm) for the entire length, it stopped right at my cousin and my feet and you couldn't see the water through the light, it was so bright it looked like you could walk across it..like it was a solid white plank of some sort that stretched across the entire bay...I thought that maybe it was a helicopter or a plane but anything that big and close in the sky would have been making some sort of a noise and it would have taken an EXTREMELY powerful light to cast a beam that bright so I ruled out those options ...after that I don't really remember any specifics neither does my cousin, we just remember watching it move ever so slowly across the horizon then all of a sudden it dissapeared along with the beam of light. It felt like we'd been watching it for hours, but it was probably no more then a few minutes.  My cousin and I then looked at each other and basically said what the hell was that..we were both extremely scared so we ran all the way home holding on to each other for dear life..when we got back we grabbed some lawn chairs and sat completely silent scared out of our wits watching the sky when I noticed a red light way up in the sky moving horizontally but at a very fast speed ..I figured it was a plane or something but then it shot straight up in the sky (about the length of my hand if I put it up to the sky) then it started to move horizontally ...I pointed it out to my cousin and we both started to watch it..a few seconds later it shot up on a weird angle and then dissapeared.....at that point my cousin and I had had enough so we started to yell and try to wake up my grandparents. Ever since that day I always have nightmares about it.

Manitoulin Island, Ontario A White Light Traveling Across The Sky

Date: September 15, 2005
Time: Between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m.

Hello there, this is what happened and when. On Thursday September the 15th, I and a friend were sitting around a small fire in my back yard in the west end of the Manitoulin Island in Ontario. The time was between 8:30 and 9:00 pm and I happened to look up and saw a white light going across the sky from west to east and it was moving faster than a normal plane or jet, there were no flashing lights on it anywhere. We observed a jet going over about ten minutes and it was only going about half the speed of the object that we had seen earlier, and all the flashing lights were visible on it. There were only a few stars out at the time so I don't think it could of been a satellite. I have never seen any other light like that go across in that direction or at that speed before.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Manitoulin Island Ontario Canada Ten Witnesses Watch a Metallic DIsc Shaped UFO
May 30 - 31 Early Morning Hours

Full Description of Event/Sighting:  From what I was told, it was disc shaped and it was about 30 meters wide hovering right above them.  Some of the witnesses remember lights about the brim while others do not.  They all confirm that the disc was metallic in appearance and it hovered silently above them as if it were observing they witnesses.  I did not remain long and the witnesses all say it went from hovering and then out-of-sight within a blink of an eye, indicating at it's speed upon leaving.

I'm not sure how many people were in the party that was at the location where the sighting took place, however it was a spiritual retreat that the Native people that live there were holding.  This retreat did include a fasting of several days, and yes it could contribute to one persons complaints of discomforts and much pain on the interior of his rectum, leading several to think that he may have been abducted.  However, I did mention to them the fasting can lead to diarrhea and that could explain his discomfort.  I do not know if this individual is seeking medical assistance.  I have asked for my contact to inquire the witnesses to compile their sightings to paper for a follow up report.

Thank you to the person for relating the information.

M'Chigeeng First Nation, Ontario Canada Bright Lights
Posted: June 1, 2009

Full Description of Event/Sighting: While my sister and I were biking, we spotted a very bright star in the sky above us. At first it looked like a star, but it started travelling east very quickly. We watched it head east until it disappeared from sight. Not long after about 30 seconds or so, a jet flew very quickly and was heading in the same direction. We went to my house and had a fire going behind the house. It was dark by now, but then we started seeing planes or at least the blinking lights of planes heading in the same direction. Lots of them going by, one by one. They made very little noise. This is the country, so we can hear anything even during the day. The first plane we observed was loud and we could hear it no problem. But the planes that followed later on were very quiet, we couldn't even hear some of them that went by. This was last night May 25, but on the 24th, I only saw a bright light heading east in the same direction. I told some friends and they were freaked out a few days ago by a very bright sphere heading east also. Freaky, what's going down?

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.
